Belkin has unveiled a new line of semi-solid batteries aimed at improving the longevity and performance of portable power solutions. These batteries are designed to maintain their capacity for at least five years, addressing a common issue with traditional batteries, which often degrade after a limited number of charge and discharge cycles. The new UltraCharge Pro 5K with BoostSolid Cell is the flagship model, offering a 5000 mAh capacity. It is 40% thinner than similar products, three times more durable, and 20% better at managing temperature compared to conventional batteries that use liquid electrolytes. Its compact size—10 cm long, 7 cm wide, and just 8.4 millimeters thick—makes it ideal for attaching to an iPhone with minimal added bulk. The UltraCharge Pro 5K supports fast charging, with wired charging speeds of up to 22 watts and wireless charging via the Qi2 standard at up to 15 watts. This makes it a versatile option for users who need quick power on the go. In addition to the 5000 mAh model, Belkin also offers a larger 10,000 mAh version with two USB-C ports capable of delivering up to 60 watts of power, a USB-A port, and a design that is 27% more compact than similar products. A 20,000 mAh model is also available, promising up to 120 watts of power output, making it suitable for more demanding devices. Pricing for the new batteries starts at $69.99 for the 5000 mAh model, $89.99 for the 10,000 mAh version, and $100 for the 20,000 mAh unit. However, prices for the French market have not yet been officially announced. The products are designed with MagSafe magnets, ensuring compatibility with Apple devices like the iPhone and MacBook, but they also include a USB-C cable for use with any compatible device, expanding their appeal beyond Apple users. The introduction of these semi-solid batteries represents a shift in portable power technology, focusing on durability, efficiency, and user convenience. By reducing the need for frequent replacements and offering better performance in various conditions, Belkin aims to meet the growing demand for reliable and long-lasting power solutions.
