French TV debut for Dragon Ball DAIMA

The anime series Dragon Ball DAIMA will be broadcast on free-to-air television in France this autumn. The channel Gulli has confirmed that the show will be included in its programming schedule, marking the first time the series will be available on free TV in the country.

Air date and time set

The series will air every Wednesday morning at 9:15 AM, beginning on November 4. This schedule provides a regular viewing opportunity for fans in France who may not have access to subscription-based streaming platforms.

Background of the series

Dragon Ball DAIMA is part of the long-running Dragon Ball franchise, which has been popular since the 1980s. The series consists of 20 episodes and was first shown in Japan between October 2024 and February 2025, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the original Dragon Ball manga.

Availability in France

Before its free TV debut, Dragon Ball DAIMA was already available in France on platforms such as ADN, Crunchyroll, and Netflix. These platforms cater to anime fans who prefer on-demand viewing over scheduled broadcasts.

Production team and creative direction

TOEI Animation produced the series, with directors Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki overseeing the animation. Yûko Kakihara adapted the screenplay based on the story concept created by the late Akira Toriyama, the original Dragon Ball creator. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru was responsible for designing the characters.

Plot summary and new characters

The series follows Son Goku and his companions, who unexpectedly shrink due to a mysterious conspiracy. Their quest to uncover the cause leads them to a world called the Demon World. During their investigation, they encounter a young Majin named Glorio, adding a new layer to the Dragon Ball storyline.
