Bose launches wired noise-cancelling earbuds with USB-C, priced at 100 €, targeting cable enthusiasts with ANC and a classic design.
Bose launches new wired earbuds
Bose has introduced its Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds, which became available in September 2026 at a price of 100 €. These earbuds aim to combine the benefits of wired connectivity with noise cancellation technology, offering an alternative to true wireless earbuds.Design and features
The earbuds feature a noise reduction system and USB-C connectivity, using long and thin tubes ending in semi-rigid silicone tips. They come in three finishes: black, mint green, and white cloud, and are inspired by the 2015 QuietComfort QC20 model.Comfort and fit
Comfort varies based on the user’s ear shape and the chosen tip size. M tips were found to be intrusive and less watertight, while L tips provided better retention. The earbuds have an IPX4 rating, offering protection against splashes but not sweat.Noise cancellation and sound quality
The earbuds use four microphones for noise reduction, but their active noise cancellation is less effective in the second half of the frequency spectrum. Transparency mode allows users to hear their surroundings, though the vocal tones sound unnatural.Additional features and limitations
The earbuds include an integrated DAC for audio conversion up to 24 bits/48 kHz and a small remote control with volume adjustment and playback controls. However, they lack a mobile app, a feature common in many true wireless earbuds.Comparison with competitors
Bose’s earbuds offer modest noise reduction, deeper bass, and possibly greater durability than Apple’s EarPods, which cost less than 20 €. However, their in-ear design is less universally comfortable, and their sound signature is less natural compared to Apple’s offering.Limitations in connectivity
The USB-C connector limits their use with devices that only have a mini-jack output, as no adapter is supported. Additionally, the earbuds do not allow the two cables to be connected, which would have made it easier to listen with a single earpiece.
