Clean walk event planned in Nîmes

On Saturday, November 14, the city of Nîmes and Nîmes Métropole will organize a large clean walk across different neighborhoods. The event aims to bring citizens together for a friendly activity to collect litter and improve the living environment.

Local associations invited to participate

Local associations are being asked to help mobilize people, supervise participants, support teams in the field, and spread information to their members. Mayor Vincent Bouget emphasized the importance of collective involvement in making the city cleaner.

Preparation meeting held for volunteers

An information meeting for volunteers was held on Monday, November 2, at 6 p.m., at the Maison des associations in Nîmes. The meeting explained the event’s organization, clarified roles for supervisors, and answered questions from those interested in joining.

Registration open for associations

Interested associations are encouraged to register by email at cleanwalk2026@ville-nimes.fr to participate in the event. The city and Nîmes Métropole want to ensure the initiative is accessible, rooted in neighborhoods, and driven by local efforts.

Event open to all residents and groups

Residents, families, sports clubs, companies, and other groups are invited to join the citizen day. Eight meeting points will be set up in different neighborhoods, starting at 10 a.m. The city will provide equipment and safety instructions for all participants.

Focus on shared responsibility for cleanliness

Beyond collecting litter, the event aims to encourage people to take care of their neighborhoods and view the cleanliness of public spaces as a shared responsibility.
