New MacBook Pro with OLED screen

The first MacBook Pro featuring an OLED touchscreen may be available in stores as early as November 6. Analyst Mark Gurman suggests Apple will unveil the device on October 27 or 28, with a likely release date on November 6. However, Apple has not officially confirmed this information.

Store reorganization as a clue

Gurman bases his prediction on a concrete detail: Apple Stores are expected to undergo a major reorganization of their sales areas starting the evening of November 5 and continuing through November 6. He believes this is a strong indicator that new Mac models are about to be released.

Product launch event in Los Angeles

Apple is also expected to host a meeting with creators in Los Angeles toward the end of October to introduce its new products. While Gurman does not confirm if a traditional product launch event will take place, he anticipates the release of videos to accompany the announcements.

No MacBook "Ultra," but standard chips

Gurman initially speculated the new machine might be called "MacBook Ultra," but he has since retracted that idea. The OLED models will instead join the existing MacBook Pro lineup. Apple has never used the term "Ultra" for its laptops. In terms of processors, no new chips are expected—the models will use the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips found in current MacBook Pro models.

Other rumored products in the pipeline

Other unconfirmed rumors include an OLED iPad mini, an iMac with an M6 chip, and an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro also featuring an M6 chip. These have not been officially confirmed by Apple.

A packed product launch schedule

If the new MacBook Pro launches on November 6, it will be part of a series of closely spaced product releases. The iPhone Duo was announced on October 23, the HomePod mini 2 on October 30, and new HomeView and fourth-generation Apple TV 4K models are expected to launch on November 13.
