Bouygues Telecom, a major French telecommunications company, is running a special promotion offering a PlayStation 5 for just 1 euro, along with its Bbox Gaming internet service. The offer is part of a limited-time campaign running from September 15 to October 4, and it's aimed at gamers who haven’t yet upgraded to a next-generation console, especially in anticipation of the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI. This is the first time such a deal has been offered in France, and the company says it aims to boost interest in next-gen gaming and its high-speed fiber network.
To qualify for the promotion, customers must first sign up for the Bbox Gaming internet service, which starts at 45 euros per month. The service requires a 24-month contract. Once that is in place, the PlayStation 5—which typically costs 599 euros—can be purchased for 101 euros through a partner store called Tech Distri Service. However, to bring the price down to just 1 euro, customers must trade in their existing PlayStation 4.
The PS4 must be handed over to Recommerce, a partner of Bouygues Telecom, which will assess its condition and resell it. The buyback price for the PS4 can range up to 50 euros, depending on its condition. In addition, customers receive a "Bouygues Telecom buyback bonus" of 50 euros, which can be applied toward the cost of the PS5. This brings the final price down to 1 euro. However, the bonus is capped at 100 euros, meaning the maximum discount is limited.
It’s not required to trade in the PS4 to take advantage of the offer, but without doing so, the PS5 will cost 101 euros instead of 1 euro. Bouygues Telecom says this deal could attract many gamers who are still using older consoles. The company claims the promotion will help boost the gaming market and give thousands of users a chance to experience high-speed gaming through its fiber network.
This isn’t the first time Bouygues Telecom has worked with a console manufacturer. In 2025, the company offered a similar deal with the Xbox Series S. However, the current promotion is unique because it includes a buyback bonus that reduces the price to just 1 euro. The offer will remain available until November 19, the expected release date of Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most anticipated video games of the year.
