Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport has come last in a global ranking of airports based on passenger experience, according to a report by AirAdvisor. The ranking evaluates 23 of the most used airports by American and European passengers using six criteria: punctuality (40%), average of Google reviews (40%), cost of the trip to the city center (8%), shopping experience (5%), distance to the city center (4%), and the Skytrax ranking (3%). The final score is a sum of these weighted results.
London Heathrow Airport topped the list with a score of 16.94, attributed to its good punctuality rate (79%), best selection of shops and restaurants, and satisfactory customer reviews. It outperformed Dublin Airport (16.74) and Tenerife South (14.81), which gained 6 and 7 places respectively in a year. Tenerife South is noted as the best ranked small airport in the world, with an on-time departure rate of 75% in 2025 and 4 out of 5 stars on Google.
Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport received a score of 4.1, placing it at the bottom of the list. It was heavily penalized for poor punctuality, with only 61.07% of flights departing on time in 2025, the lowest rate in the ranking, far below the average of 74.04%. It was also penalized for the relatively expensive transfer to the city center, costing 11.80 euros by RER B, and for passenger satisfaction below the average.
Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport was the best-ranked French airport, placing 10th with a score of 12.15. It also ranked first in the world for punctuality (83.5% on-time departures) and second for the lowest cost of transfer to the city center at 1.90 euros. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport was ranked 20th with a score of 6.96, also penalized by one of the weakest punctuality rates observed.
The ranking contrasts with the Skytrax ranking from March last year, which used a different methodology based on customer questionnaires and criteria such as check-in, arrivals, transfers, shops, security, and immigration. According to Skytrax, Paris-CDG was ranked 6th in the world and first in Europe.
