The manga Magic Knight Rayearth, originally created by the Japanese group CLAMP, is undergoing a new phase of publication in Japan. This includes a fresh animated adaptation, which is set to begin airing this week. To celebrate the occasion, the original manga is being republished in its original magazine, Nakayoshi, where it first appeared. The new serialization started last week, specifically on Friday, and includes color pages to allow readers to experience the original publication alongside the anime's release. The manga was first published in Nakayoshi between 1993 and 1996, divided into two series of three volumes each. In France, the complete edition is available through the publisher Pika. Since 2022, the manga has also been reissued as part of the Clamp Premium Collection, raising the possibility that it could return to Pika's Clamp Universe collection in the future. The animated adaptation of Magic Knight Rayearth will begin broadcasting on October 7. It is produced by the studio E&H Production and directed by Yui Omemoto. The series will be available to stream in France on Crunchyroll, a popular platform for anime and manga content. Magic Knight Rayearth follows the story of three junior high students—Hikaru, Umi, and Fû—who are suddenly transported to Cefiro, a parallel world invaded by psycho-monsters. To return home, they must unite and rescue the Emerald Princess, the guardian of harmony, who is held captive by the villain Zagato. The only way to defeat Zagato is for the three students to become the "Magic Knights."
