Hieu-Courtois confirmed as medical replacement

Thomas Hieu-Courtois has been officially confirmed as the medical replacement for Vincent Vent in the Ligue Nationale de Basketball (LNB) until January 14, 2027. The 30-year-old forward will take over the role temporarily after Vent suffered a stroke before a training session.

Vent’s condition and recovery

Vincent Vent, a 28-year-old center, was treated and hospitalized quickly after his stroke, thanks to the immediate response of physiotherapist Hugo Marie and the team staff. He was able to return home after two days in the hospital and currently shows no apparent long-term effects.

Hieu-Courtois’ role in the team

Hieu-Courtois, who is entering his 10th season in professional basketball, will play a key role in helping the team of coach Jean-Denys Choulet continue its progress. This comes after the team’s first victory of the season against Blois last week.

Upcoming match details

Thomas Hieu-Courtois will not be available for the team’s match against Nantes this weekend, which they lost 83-78. He will, however, be qualified for the home game against La Rochelle on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.

Team standings and competition

The two teams involved in the upcoming match are tied for 16th place with Gries-Souffel, Aix-Maurienne, and Fos-sur-Mer. All have the same record of one win and three losses heading into the encounter.

Another medical replacement confirmed

The Ligue Nationale de Basket also announced the qualification of Jaden Bediako to ASA Basket until November 22, 2026, as the medical replacement for Vasilije Bacovic.
