Roll race at Pocono Raceway

At the Pocono Raceway, a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and a Nissan GT-R R35 participated in a roll race at 65 mph during a RaceMotive event. The duel, which took place at over 240 km/h, was decided by a margin of just 1.6 km/h, according to reports.

Event location and setup

The event occurred on the Pocono Raceway, a 2.5-mile tri-oval that has hosted various racing events since 1969, including NASCAR, IndyCar, and IMSA GT. For this particular event, RaceMotive organized roll races at 105 km/h, with a launch start format. The two cars were already launched at this speed before accelerating to maximum speeds until the measurement point.

Car specifications and power

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, a red rear-wheel-drive sedan, is powered by a 6.2-liter Hemi supercharged V8 engine, producing approximately 707 horsepower. In contrast, the Nissan GT-R R35, nicknamed Godzilla, features a 3.8-liter VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 engine with approximately 545 horsepower, and an all-wheel-drive system.

First race results and rematch

During the first run, the two cars appeared nearly side by side throughout the race. The winning car reached 145.09 mph (approximately 233.5 km/h), while the other reached 144.88 mph (approximately 233.2 km/h), a difference of about 0.3 km/h. A rematch was immediately granted.
