Electric vehicles dominate Citroën France orders

Electric vehicles now represent more than half of Citroën France's orders, according to recent data, showing a strong shift toward electrification in the brand's customer base.

Positive reception for 2CV concept

The initial reactions to the 2CV concept have been extremely positive, with praise coming from the network, journalists, institutions, and especially the public. The concept is said to attract children and convey joy, suggesting it has successfully captured the intended audience.

Production delay for 2CV

Despite the positive feedback, the production version of the 2CV will not be available until at least two years from now. Citroën's representative, Édouard George, emphasized that the brand will use existing 2CV enthusiast clubs and events to build anticipation for the vehicle's release.

Citroën's growth outpaces market

By the end of September 2026, Citroën had recorded 93,926 passenger vehicle registrations in France, a 9.5% increase compared to a market that grew by only 4.1%. George attributed this success to the brand's diverse offerings and a growing fleet effect.

Lag in electric vehicle sales

Despite its overall growth, Citroën is underperforming in the electric vehicle segment, with these models representing 26.7% of its sales compared to 31.4% for the market as a whole. George noted that while the company has over 20,000 electric vehicles in its portfolio, only about 2,000 have been registered so far.

Social leasing and pricing strategy

Citroën has a significant volume of 12,000 vehicles in social leasing, a program aimed at making cars more accessible. George explained that the company has aligned its pricing and resale values with market standards, leading some customers to opt for regular leasing instead.

Profitability on the rise

The company's network profitability has increased significantly, with performance by the end of August 2026 already matching that of December 2025. George expects a slightly positive profitability for the full year, citing strong performance in recent months and a solid product lineup.
