Toulouse marathon draws 37,000 runners
The Toulouse marathon, held on Sunday, November 1st, brought together 37,000 runners. The event, known as the Harmonie Mutuelle Toulouse Métropole Run Experience, included several novelties, including an unprecedented crossing of the Stadium, made possible through a partnership with the City of Toulouse.Routes included new locations and landmarks
For the first time, all the routes passed inside the TFC grounds. The participants also crossed several emblematic places of the Pink City, from the Capitole to the banks of the Garonne, passing through the Midi Canal and sites related to aeronautics and space, from the Piste des Géants to the Cité de l’Espace, passing through the ENAC.Public engagement and environmental efforts
The public contributed to the atmosphere of the day with fanfares, batucadas, and several musical groups alternating along the routes, with animations every 2.5 kilometers. Three fan zones were set up at Place du Capitole, Place du Salin, and at Jolimont, notably on the dreaded hill for marathoners. The event also kept its environmental commitments, with wooden medals distributed to finishers produced in Ariège. Their production represents, according to the organizers, 280 times less CO² emissions than a metal medal. The refreshments were also offered without plastic and composed of 50% organic products.Athletes achieve strong performances
On the sports side, Adrien Latestère confirmed his victory from last year on the queen distance, the marathon. The runner from Blagnac SC finished in 2 hours 24 minutes 57 seconds, ahead of another Haut-Garonnais, Guillaume Tiphène, who crossed the line in 2 hours 25 minutes 20 seconds. Among women, Marie Laplace won her first marathon in 2 hours 52 minutes 38 seconds. The SATUC member outpaced Nadia Moussaïd by 12 seconds, despite a setback at the 25th kilometer.Future event planned based on this year’s success
The day also gave ideas to the organizers for the future. The passage through the Stadium will become a standalone event with the launch of the Stadium Run Experience, scheduled for May 29, 2027. This new race will offer an arrival inside the Toulouse stadium itself. Registrations are already open.
