Shooting Locations Marketplace, a global event focused on film locations, will take place for the sixth time on 14 and 15 October at the Feria de Valladolid (Valladolid Trade Fair). Organized by the Feria de Valladolid and the Spain Film Commission, the event will gather professionals from 27 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Over 1,500 one-on-one meetings will be held, connecting territories, film commissions, studios, location scouts, and production companies. This year, new regions added to the event include Turkey, Stockholm, Rome-Lazio, the Veneto region in Italy, Uruguay, Peru, Mallorca, Calvià, Teruel, and Ávila in Spain. Also participating are studios and ancillary service providers from Spain and Morocco, as well as several Portuguese destinations. The event will include conferences and round-table discussions on a range of topics, including the new European audiovisual strategy, tax incentives in different regions, and how geopolitical and climate challenges affect filming plans. One session titled "Objective: Find the Next Location" will explore how regions can adapt to remain competitive as filming destinations and how to offer practical alternatives to meet the creative and logistical needs of film projects. During the event's official presentation in Valladolid, Alberto Alonso, general manager of Feria de Valladolid, emphasized that the event is highly regarded by professionals in the industry and has a strong track record. He noted that the event contributes to the growth of the audiovisual sector and helps position Valladolid as a filming destination. Juan Manuel Guimeráns, president of Spain Film Commission, explained that the initiative was created to provide a space for decision-makers in the film industry and for regions seeking to attract productions. He added that the event’s expansion and international reach show its growing importance in the sector. Ignacio Sicilia, director-general for Tourism, welcomed the involvement of the Castilla y León Film Commission in the event. The commission aims to promote the region as a filming destination and support local companies and professionals in the sector. Blanca Jiménez, councillor for Tourism, Events, and City Brand, highlighted that Valladolid is benefiting from efforts to strengthen its audiovisual industry, including infrastructure improvements, support for local talent, and other initiatives aimed at attracting new film productions.
