FFXIV reaches 35 million players

During the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Tokyo, SQUARE ENIX announced that FINAL FANTASY XIV Online has exceeded 35 million registered players internationally. Exclusive information about the new expansion Evercold, scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2027, was also shared during the event.

New job unveiled for Evercold

At the opening ceremony, producer and director Naoki Yoshida revealed the second new job of the expansion Evercold: the Zephyr. The Zephyr, a physical ranged DPS, joins the other available jobs and combines crossbow shots with support provided by its companion, Néphélé. A video introducing the Zephyr was shown.

Pre-order dates announced

In addition to the release date, Yoshida also announced the start date for pre-orders for the Evercold expansion and for the Collector’s Box, available starting Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM Paris time.

Collector’s Box details

The Collector’s Bundle will be available for pre-order in limited quantities, exclusively on the Square Enix store, and will include a physical copy of the Collector’s Box as well as a code for the Digital Collector’s Edition of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Evercold on Windows or Mac. Players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam can order the Collector’s Box individually and pre-order the Digital Collector’s Edition of Evercold separately for their respective platforms.

Physical items in Collector’s Box

Pre-order bonuses available

Players who pre-order FINAL FANTASY XIV: Evercold through participating retailers will receive the following bonuses: - Early Access – Early access should be available starting Friday, February 19, 2027 at 10:00 AM (Paris time) and will allow players to play Evercold before its official release. - In-game Item: Halone Earring – This highly practical earring increases the user's attributes based on their class or job and current level. Additionally, when worn, they allow an extra 30% EXP gain when defeating enemies, ideal for quickly leveling a job to level 100. - In-game Item: Miniature Köttr Mascot

Bonus distribution methods

The pre-order bonuses will be automatically recorded to accounts for purchases made on the Station Mog, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Nintendo eShop and will not require an additional pre-order code. Purchases at certain retailers will grant access to a code for immediate use of the pre-order bonus items. The in-game items will be sent upon pre-order and will allow players to use the experience bonus provided by the Halone Earring to level their jobs to 100 in preparation for Evercold.

New raid content and collaboration

The new alliance raid trailer in collaboration with EVANGELION: Ghosts of Desire as well as information on the new difficulty mode for 8-player raids against alliance raid enemies in new battles similar to the sadistic difficulty will be revealed.

New difficulty mode details

A new illustration from the creative director of the FINAL FANTASY VII Remake trilogy, Tetsuya Nomura, has been revealed as well as new information on the new raid difficulty mode. The "Fierce" mode, situated between normal and sadistic (already available), will allow more players to experience this type of content.
