A new theatrical production reimagines a 2011 solo performance, exploring repetition and time through a 15-year journey in theatre.
Theatre company revisits past performance
Reprenons, a new production by the Compagnie Théâtre Déplié, explores the concept of repetition in theatre, focusing on how the theatre can engage with our experience of time. The production is based on a 2011 solo performance titled Il est trop tôt pour prendre des décisions définitives, which the company revisits fifteen years later. The production is neither a literal revival nor a recreation of the original, but rather an exploration that traverses an uncertain archive to create a new experience.Influenced by Kierkegaard's philosophy
The production is influenced by the reading of La Reprise by Søren Kierkegaard, which examines repetition as a movement forward. The production questions how repeating past events can prepare for future moments and how repetition can carry new elements.Production dates and locations
The production, which runs from October 13 to 17, 2026, at the Studio-Théâtre de Vitry in partnership with the Théâtre des Quartiers d'Ivry CDN du Val-de-Marne, and from December 15 to 17, 2026, at the Théâtre des 13 Vents CDN Montpellier, is directed by Adrien Béal and written by Arthur Igual. The set design is by Lucie Gautrain, costumes by Elise Garraud, and lighting by Juliette Besançon.Support and affiliations
The production is supported by the Studio-Théâtre de Vitry, where it was created. The company is conventioned by the Ministry of Culture – DRAC Île-de-France and is associated with the Théâtre des 13 Vents CDN de Montpellier since 2025 and the Studio-Théâtre de Vitry since 2024.
