A four-year-old boy, Robert Henry Steele, tragically died after the off-road motorbike he was riding on collided with a car in Newark. The incident occurred on Churchill Drive on Sunday evening, and police confirmed that Robert was pronounced dead at the scene. Brian Cameron, 32, from Chatsworth Road in Newark, has been charged with multiple offenses, including causing death by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and being unlicensed. A 24-year-old man who was also on the motorbike was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He sustained serious injuries and is currently in the hospital. Robert Henry’s mother, Tilly Robinson, shared a statement through the police on Friday, describing her son as her "pride and joy" and expressing that her "heart will be forever broken." She remembered Robert as a child full of love, big smiles, and a "cheeky charm." She also thanked the emergency services and members of the public who were present at the scene for their support and assistance. According to police, the motorbike Robert was riding was part of a convoy with a second bike. The rider of the second bike left the scene before police arrived. Cameron appeared in court at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and is set to face further proceedings at Nottingham Crown Court on September 30. The case has drawn significant attention, with the community mourning the loss of the young boy and awaiting the legal outcomes for those involved.
