Job cuts and reorganization

BayWa r.e. France is undergoing a reorganization that could result in a net reduction of 19 positions, according to reports. The company aims to refocus its prospecting and development activities on the most profitable projects while strengthening its operation and maintenance of its 1.8 GW of assets.

Details of the restructuring

The reorganization plan, announced on Friday, includes 36 permanent job cuts, six of which are currently vacant, 16 changes in employment contracts, and 17 new positions. The total number of employees would decrease from 218 to 199. The plan is subject to legal information and consultation procedures.

Focus on profitable projects

The restructuring could also lead to the creation of two separate entities. Prospecting, development, engineering and construction (EPC) activities, as well as sales, would be directly affected by this restructuring, adapted to the market's prospects. The company now intends to prioritize projects offering the best conditions for implementation and profitability.

Strengthening operations

BayWa r.e. France aims to strengthen its operation and maintenance activities, with plans to manage 10 GW of assets in the long term. It also plans to gradually strengthen its teams and develop its services for third-party customers. Modernization of existing parks (repowering) is another growth axis.

Commitments remain unchanged

The company states that its commitments to landowners, local authorities, investors, customers and partners remain unchanged. Projects under development, construction or operation continue without change.
