Emmanuel Grégoire to run marathon

Emmanuel Grégoire, the mayor of Paris, has announced his participation in the Asics marathon of Paris in 2027. This event is a major annual sporting competition held in the French capital.

New race project proposed

Grégoire also revealed plans to create a new race along the ring road surrounding Paris. This road, known as the périphérique, is a major traffic artery that circles the city.

Initial race distance suggested

The proposed race could start as a ten-kilometer event, offering a shorter alternative to the full marathon. This would allow more runners to participate, including those new to long-distance running.

Focus on accessibility and community

Grégoire emphasized that the new race aims to promote accessibility and community engagement. It would provide an opportunity for local residents to participate in organized athletic events within the city.
