Release date confirmed
Mouthwashing, a psychological horror game developed by Wrong Organ and published by Critical Reflex, is set to launch on consoles and the Microsoft Store at the end of October. Digital versions will be available on October 29 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and the Microsoft Store, and will be integrated into the Game Pass. Physical editions planned
Physical editions of Mouthwashing for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch are also planned. These will be available via the Fangamer website, offering players a tangible version of the game alongside the digital release. Previous release and player impact
Mouthwashing was previously released on Steam in the autumn of 2024 and has reportedly traumatized half a million players. The game's intense psychological themes and immersive horror elements have made it a notable entry in the horror genre. Game's narrative and setting
In Mouthwashing, players take on the role of a character trying to survive on the space cargo ship Tulpar, which was sabotaged by its captain, Curly. After surviving a suicide attempt, Curly is now amputated, disfigured, and unable to speak, trapped in a hospital bed at the mercy of the crew he condemned to death. Delayed console release
The console release of Mouthwashing comes later than initially announced. Critical Reflex had previously stated plans for console ports in February 2025, but the game is now set for release in October, a few months earlier than originally expected.
