Coros, a brand known for producing sports watches, has launched the Pace 4 Pro, a new model priced at 449 euros. This watch is aimed at runners who want advanced features without paying the higher prices often seen with competitors like Garmin or Suunto. The Pace 4 Pro features a larger 1.47-inch screen, which is 20% bigger than the previous Pace 4 model. The screen uses an Amoled LTPO panel, which can reduce its refresh rate to 1 Hz to save power, and it can reach up to 3500 cd/m² in brightness—brighter than similar models like the Apple Watch Series 12 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 9. The screen is protected by sapphire glass and surrounded by a titanium alloy frame. Inside, the watch has double the RAM of the previous model, offering 64 MB of RAM and 32 GB of storage for music and maps, while keeping the design lightweight—38 grams for the case and 43 grams with a nylon band. The Pace 4 Pro includes several advanced sensors, such as dual-frequency GPS for more accurate tracking in areas like cities or forests, a five-channel optical heart rate sensor, a barometer, a thermometer, and an electrocardiogram (ECG). The ECG feature helps monitor heart health and variability but does not detect irregular heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation. The watch also features a microphone and speaker for voice commands, voice notes, phone calls, or audio playback. Its battery has a capacity of 447 mAh, offering up to 60 hours of use in GPS Precision mode or 40 hours in continuous dual-frequency GPS mode. In everyday use, the watch is expected to last 21 days, but this drops to 7 days if the screen is constantly on. The Pace 4 Pro comes with a global map that includes turn-by-turn navigation, points of interest, and trail names—a feature previously available on the first Pace Pro and added to the Pace 4 through recent updates. The increased RAM is expected to improve the navigation experience. Coros also introduced the COROS MCP, a system that allows users to ask training-related questions in natural language using AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. The watch supports Live Tracking, a feature that lets users share their location in real-time with friends or family during workouts. The Coros Pace 4 Pro will be available starting September 22, 2026, in black, black nylon, and white nylon, with the white nylon version arriving in late October. It is significantly cheaper than the Garmin Forerunner 570, which costs 549.99 euros without mapping, and much less than the Forerunner 970 at 749.99 euros. On the Suunto side, the Race 2 is priced around 500 euros, while the recently released Suunto Run 2 starts at 299 euros but lacks sapphire glass, an ECG, or a screen as bright as the Pace 4 Pro. Mapping features on affordable running watches are becoming more common compared to a year ago.
