Meta is rolling out several new features for its Muse AI agent, aiming to make it more interactive and integrated into users’ daily lives. One of the most notable updates allows users to video chat with Muse, transforming the AI from a text-based chatbot into a visual AI avatar. This means users can now have face-to-face conversations with their Muse agent through video calls, making interactions more natural and engaging.
Another key update gives each Muse agent its own email address. This allows users to send emails directly to their Muse agent, who can then respond or take action based on the messages. This feature adds a new layer of convenience, enabling users to communicate with their AI assistant in a format they’re already familiar with.
The Muse Mac app is also getting a major upgrade, allowing the AI to control a user's computer. This integration could streamline tasks like managing files, searching the web, or even composing emails, all through voice or text commands. Additionally, users can now customize how their Muse avatar sounds, building on previous options that allowed them to personalize the avatar’s appearance. A new “Muse Realtime Avatar” model is also being introduced, which will affect how the avatar moves and reacts during conversations, making interactions feel more lifelike.
Muse was launched just this month and has already gained significant traction. Reports suggest it has surpassed ChatGPT in mobile downloads within its first 12 days, showing strong user interest. Looking ahead, Meta plans to extend Muse’s availability to its smart glasses, enabling users to interact with the AI while wearing the glasses and discussing what they see in real time. This expansion could mark a major step in integrating AI into everyday visual experiences.
