Publicis Groupe acquires LiveRamp for $2.2B, launching an AI-driven growth engine to empower advertisers with data collaboration and autonomy.
Publicis Groupe completes LiveRamp acquisition
Publicis Groupe has completed its acquisition of LiveRamp, a data collaboration company, for 2.2 billion dollars, as first announced in May. The deal officially closes with Publicis now owning the American firm, which focuses on helping brands and publishers share and use data responsibly.AI Growth Engine launched with the acquisition
Alongside the acquisition, Publicis introduced an AI-driven growth engine called AI Growth Engine. It is described as the first of its kind in the advertising and data sector, designed to be used in a "plug & play" format while ensuring clients retain full ownership and control of their data and tools.Combining data platforms for advertisers
Publicis plans to integrate LiveRamp’s data collaboration platform with Epsilon’s identification technology. This combination should allow advertisers to enhance their own data, use it across various media channels, personalize content, and track the effectiveness of their marketing campaigns.LiveRamp's connected ecosystem
LiveRamp’s ecosystem connects 25,000 publishers and 500 technology and data partners. This includes retail media networks, closed platforms, and integrations with large language models. Advertisers can use identifiers like RampID and EpsilonID to enrich their data and target billions of potential customers.Data sharing without moving it
Using clean rooms and zero-copy technologies, companies can combine their data with that of their partners without physically transferring it. This allows them to generate new insights and train their own AI models without compromising data security or control.Preserving advertiser autonomy
Publicis highlights that advertisers will maintain control over their data, which remains in their own systems. They will own any AI tools they develop and can choose their preferred technologies and partners. Arthur Sadoun, president of Publicis Groupe, emphasized the importance of keeping LiveRamp’s identity, culture, and neutrality intact while integrating its capabilities into Publicis’ broader strategy.
