The Mission Locale of Besançon has relocated to France Travail's premises, aiming to better support young people in their employment and training journeys.
New location for youth employment support
The Mission Locale of the Besançon employment area, which helps young people aged 16 to 25 find work, training, and independence, has moved to a new address. The organization previously operated on rue Midol but has now relocated to the France Travail building in the Planoise neighborhood.A long-sought permanent location
The prefecture of Doubs called the move "an achievement after several years of searching for a permanent location." This relocation marks a significant step for the organization, which had been looking for a stable base for some time.Symbolic and operational milestone
During the inauguration, Sébastien Perrin, president of the Mission Locale, described the relocation as both a symbolic and operational milestone. He noted that the move unites the teams of France Travail and the Mission Locale under one roof, aiming to provide more effective support to young people.Comprehensive support for young people
The move aims to simplify the paths of young people, nearly 3,750 of whom are supported annually across 300 communes. The organization offers comprehensive support in areas such as employment, training, housing, health, mobility, and citizenship, enhanced by the expertise of France Travail's employment market.Collective duty to support youth
Sébastien Perrin emphasized that "these young people are the ones who write the future. But this future is not written alone." He stressed the collective duty to support them, providing the necessary tools to succeed in both their professional and personal journeys.Aligning with full employment law
Jean-François Locatelli, territorial director of France Travail, said the move aligns with the full employment law's logic. The law aims to "break down silos" between employment actors and to strengthen the presence of the public service in priority neighborhoods, where unemployment rates are higher.Challenges and the need for coordination
Anne Falga, vice-president in charge of economic development, industry, employment, integration, innovation at Grand Besançon Métropole, praised the "dual location" in a context where "the youth is in great distress and expresses it strongly." She highlighted the "very strong" challenges young people face and the importance of showing them "perspectives, paths to follow."Future assessments and collaboration
In a few months, a first assessment will be carried out with France Travail "to continue advancing together under the best conditions," concluded Sébastien Perrin. This evaluation aims to ensure that the collaboration between the two organizations continues to benefit young people effectively.
