The HP Smart Tank 6005 is a home and office printer that uses refillable ink tanks instead of traditional ink cartridges. It is currently available on Amazon for 174.96 euros, which is significantly cheaper than its usual price of 249.90 euros. This printer includes scanning, copying, and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with automatic double-sided printing. It is designed for regular use in a household or small office setting. The printer is capable of printing up to 12 pages per minute in black and 7 pages per minute in color, with the first page printing in 15 seconds for black and 18 seconds for color. It can hold up to 150 sheets of A4 paper in its tray. One of the main advantages of the HP Smart Tank 6005 is its very low cost per page, thanks to the use of refillable ink bottles that can last for several thousand pages before needing to be refilled. It supports modern connectivity features like Wi-Fi, AirPrint, and the HP Smart app, which allows users to control printing from their smartphones. Print quality is described as very good in both black and color, making it suitable for most types of documents. However, the printer has a simple, two-line LCD screen without touch functionality, and it does not include an Ethernet port for wired internet connections. When compared to similar models like the Epson EcoTank and Canon MegaTank, the HP Smart Tank 6005 offers automatic double-sided printing and a more advanced mobile app. However, it lacks a fax function and an automatic document feeder, which limits its usefulness for more complex office tasks. This makes it better suited for home use, especially for families that regularly print documents, as it can significantly reduce long-term printing costs. The HP Smart Tank 6005 is not the best choice for offices that require features like faxing or a wired internet connection. Additionally, users who do not print frequently are advised to print a few color pages regularly to keep the printer’s ink from drying out and clogging the print heads.
