Tax debt and luxury lifestyle

In the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in northern Italy, two brothers—one a restaurateur and the other an employee—have built up about 780,000 euros in tax debt while continuing to live a wealthy lifestyle that includes owning a Ferrari F8.

Asset seizure operation

On October 1, 2026, the Guardia di Finanza, Italy’s financial police, carried out an asset seizure operation called "Reset Tributo," confiscating over 600,000 euros in assets. These included the Ferrari F8, a Rolex watch, and more than 346,000 euros in cash.

Financial investigation findings

The investigation, which began in 2021, looked into the brothers' financial activities and found that they had withdrawn and transferred about 220,000 euros in cash to family members between 2021 and 2025. Authorities claim these relatives later returned the money to the brother with a lower reported income, who used it to take out loans and buy luxury items.

Luxury vehicle transactions

The brothers were also involved in buying and reselling high-end cars, including a Ferrari 458 and a BMW M2, which they later used to purchase the Ferrari F8. The investigation is looking into possible fraud related to tax debt and self-laundering, aiming to prevent the brothers from hiding assets during the probe. The final penalties will depend on evidence presented in any future court case.
