Ferrari Monza SP2 seized in London

A rare Ferrari Monza SP2 was seized by London police in August 2026 after its driver was found to have a provisional license and no insurance.

London's crackdown on supercars

The Metropolitan Police conducted a three-day operation targeting antisocial driving in affluent areas of London, seizing 90 vehicles valued at over 8 million pounds.

The value of the Ferrari

The Ferrari Monza SP2 is one of only 499 units produced, with a powerful 6.5-liter V12 engine and an estimated value of around 3.7 million pounds.

Seizure and transport

The Ferrari was stopped near Hyde Park within 30 minutes of its first drive in London. Police found the driver had no valid insurance and only a provisional license, allowing them to seize the car immediately.

Police message to drivers

The operation aimed to address complaints from residents about dangerous driving and noise. Police emphasized they would not tolerate reckless behavior on the roads.

Other vehicles seized

Alongside the Ferrari, police seized several high-end vehicles, including Porsches, a Bentley, a Rolls-Royce, and a Lamborghini. The Motor Insurers' Bureau highlighted the dangers of uninsured driving in the UK.
