The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Max is now available at a reduced price during the French Days sale, dropping below 500 euros. Originally priced at 609.99 euros, the scooter can now be purchased for 484.99 euros on the Cdiscount website using the code COCORICO15. This discount is part of a seasonal promotional event that returns in 2026 for a second special edition, running until September 14. The sale is a popular time for consumers to find deals on electronics and home goods in France. The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Max features a robust design with a double suspension system, self-illumination, and light bars to enhance visibility and comfort during rides. It has a larger deck than its predecessor, the Electric Scooter 4 Pro Max, and includes new rigid plastic fenders for added protection. While it folds easily for storage, its weight of 25.3 kg makes it unsuitable for intermodal transport, such as carrying on public transit. The scooter includes automatic front lighting, a rear light, turn signals, and two new blue light bars under the deck, improving safety and visibility during night rides. The accompanying mobile application has also been improved, offering new features such as mileage tracking to help users monitor their usage and battery efficiency. The scooter is powered by a 400 W continuous and 1000 W peak motor, which is suitable for city use but may struggle on steep slopes with an inclination of more than 20%. It also includes TCS (traction control) to prevent slipping on wet or slippery surfaces. The braking system consists of a drum brake in the front and an electronic brake in the rear, which is less advanced than the braking system found in the 4 Pro Max. The scooter retains the front hydraulic suspended fork from the previous model and adds a pair of springs at the back for improved comfort. It has a battery capacity of 477 Wh, offering a range of approximately 30 km at 10°C and 35 km at 15°C. With a standard 70 W charger, it takes 9 hours to charge, but using a fast 207 W charger reduces that time to just 3 hours.
