Vienne council rejects funding for Miss France 2027

The departmental council of Vienne has decided not to provide financial support for the Miss France 2027 competition, which is set to take place on December 12, 2026, at the Arena Futuroscope.

Event returns to Vienne for special anniversary

This will be the second time Vienne hosts the Miss France competition. The decision to return in 2026 is linked to two anniversaries: the 40th year of the beauty pageant and the 40th year of the Futuroscope, a science-themed leisure park in the area.

Announcement made by Miss France and TF1

The information was revealed on October 8 by the Miss France organization and TF1 in a joint press release, which was signed with the Futuroscope and the Arena Futuroscope.

Council president explains funding refusal

On October 12, Alain Pichon, the president of the departmental council, explained his decision during an assembly. He cited financial constraints and the need to prioritize policies and solidarity, stating that the council could not afford to support the event.

Futuroscope and Arena handle logistics

Pichon noted that the Futuroscope and the Arena Futuroscope are directly involved in discussions with the Miss France committee regarding financial and logistical matters.

Council supports event’s visibility

Despite not providing funding, Pichon expressed optimism about the event’s potential to put Vienne on the national map through extensive media coverage and live broadcasting.
