NIU introduces new scooter model at EICMA

At the EICMA show in Milan, NIU expanded its FQiX series with the introduction of the FQiX 500, a more powerful scooter than the FQiX 300 launched earlier this year. The new model reaches a top speed of 115 km/h, offers up to 130 km of range with an optional battery, and starts at 4,699 euros.

FQiX series targets younger riders

Launched in 2026 with the FQiX 150 and FQiX 300, the FQiX series targets a younger demographic with an aggressive design and competitive pricing, with the FQiX 125 version priced under 3,000 euros. NIU now adds a high-end model to the lineup, emphasizing performance and style.

Technical features of the FQiX 500

The FQiX 500 shares the technical base of the Niu NQiX 500, featuring a reinforced frame and the FQiX series' styling. It reaches 110 km/h and 115 km/h in Boost mode, with a peak power of 9,900 W—more than double that of the FQiX 300 (4,100 W).

Battery options and pricing details

The FQiX 500 comes with two 72 V / 28 Ah batteries, providing an announced range of 95 to 100 km. An optional third battery under the seat extends the range to 120–130 km. The price has not yet been officially announced, though it is expected to be around 4,699 euros.

Comparing FQiX 500 and FQiX 300

The FQiX 500 uses flat cells that are lighter (12.5 kg per battery) compared to the FQiX 300 MY27, which uses new 72 V / 30 Ah cylindrical cells (15 kg). As a result, the FQiX 500 is faster but has a shorter range compared to its smaller sibling. It is priced at 4,699 euros, 1,600 euros more than the FQiX 300.

Availability and future updates

The FQiX 500 is expected to be available in orange, silver, and black. It is anticipated to be available at European dealers in the first quarter of 2027, starting at 4,699 euros. NIU notes that the specifications are pending final homologation. The manufacturer also used the EICMA show to update its entire 2027 lineup, including a new battery and a faster NQiX 500. Details will be provided in the coming days.
