As part of the **European Heritage Days 2026**, Laurent Juhel, an archaeologist with the Inrap, will give a presentation titled "From the last hunter-gatherers to the first farmers: the prehistoric occupations of the Léguer valley" on Friday, 18 September, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hall of festivities Ty an Holl in Lanmodez. The event will explore archaeological findings from the Kervouric and Kerwegan sites, focusing on the transition from hunter-gatherer societies to early farming communities in the Trégor region during the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods. The event is free and does not require advance booking, but it is not recommended for young children. At the Gallo-Roman Villa of Faluns in Le Quiou, activities will run from 18 to 20 September 2026, marking the 20th anniversary of the Pierres Vives association. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including performances, concerts, cooking demonstrations, and guided tours. Bastien Simier, another Inrap archaeologist, will speak on "The Breton countryside during the Roman period: a renewed image through archaeology" on Sunday, 20 September, at 2:30 p.m. Inrap archaeologists will also have a stand at the site on Saturday, 19 September, and Sunday, 20 September, from 2 p.m. to showcase archaeological models and findings. In La Chapelle-des-Fougeretz, Bastien Simier will deliver a conference on Saturday, 19 September, at 11 a.m., alongside a children's workshop using an archaeological model from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. From 8 to 25 September, an Inrap-designed exhibition will display artifacts and movable goods uncovered at the local library. Registration is required for the children's workshop through the town hall of La Chapelle-des-Fougeretz. In Rennes, guided tours of the shopping center La Visitation will be held on Friday, 18 September, and Saturday, 19 September, at 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. An exhibition under the center’s glass roof will showcase its history and the archaeological excavations conducted before its construction. Registration is required on-site based on availability. At Le Grand Huit in Rennes, an Inrap stand will be set up alongside the creators of the new comic book magazine La Vilaine on Saturday, 19 September, starting at 2 p.m. The magazine, created by a group of writers and illustrators, explores the history of the former Jacobins convent and the excavation process. In Plescop, the CPIe Val de Vilaine will host public workshops in continuous sessions from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, 19 September. Sandra Sicard will also give a one-hour and 30-minute conference in the room Le Poulpe at 2:30 p.m. Across France, the Inrap will organize a wide range of events as part of the **European Heritage Days 2026**, including open days at excavation sites, exhibitions, and public meetings. The themes for this year’s edition are "Heritage of photography" and "Heritage in danger: revive, resist, reimagine."
