A popular French YouTuber, Grégory Guillotin, is under investigation following a domestic violence complaint filed by his former partner. The complainant, now 27, alleges she endured years of physical abuse, insults, and psychological degradation during their relationship, which began when she was 19 and he was 35. The allegations were reported by AFP on September 3, after consulting the formal complaint filed with the judicial court in Evry (Essonne) on June 17. The prosecutor confirmed no investigation had officially started, as no investigative services had been contacted yet. The complainant's lawyer, Me Jean-Baptiste Riolacci, praised her for coming forward, saying she had the courage to report the abuse and now fears similar behavior could affect other women. He stated that the complainant provided the prosecutor with all the evidence she had collected to support her claims. He expressed confidence in the justice system to evaluate the significance of the evidence presented. According to the complaint, which AFP obtained, the alleged abuse occurred between 2019 and 2026. The complainant described a pattern of surveillance, humiliation, and control. She recounted incidents including physical attacks during trips to the Maldives in 2022 and Morocco in 2023. One incident involved being slapped and having a bowl of cereal thrown in her face, after which Guillotin falsely claimed he had canceled her flight home. She also alleges that in the year before their separation, Guillotin installed surveillance cameras in their home, claiming to monitor a craftsman working on repairs. However, the complaint suggests the cameras were used to monitor her behavior and actions, leading to reprimands when she did not meet his expectations. Grégory Guillotin, who is known for his hidden camera sketches, has not commented on the allegations at this time. He has nearly 4.5 million subscribers on YouTube, making this case a significant public interest story. The investigation is ongoing, and the legal process will determine the validity of the claims.
