Grégory Guillotin, a popular YouTuber and comedian known for his hidden camera sketches, was taken into custody on Monday, September 28, after his former partner filed a domestic violence complaint against him. The complainant, a 27-year-old woman, alleges that between 2019 and 2026, she endured repeated physical and psychological abuse during their relationship. The complaint was submitted on June 17 to the judicial court in Evry, a town in the Essonne department of France. An investigation into habitual violence against a spouse and psychological harassment has been launched and is being handled by the local gendarmerie, the military police force in France. Grégory Guillotin’s lawyer, Tom Michel, said that his client intends to respond fully to the allegations, present his side of the story, and provide all necessary information to the investigators. He emphasized that Guillotin is not trying to avoid responsibility and is prepared to accept any consequences that may follow. The complainant described a pattern of behavior that included surveillance, humiliation, insults, and control. According to her account, the first incident of physical violence occurred in April 2022 at their home in the Paris suburbs. She claims that other incidents followed, including a kick in December 2022 in the Maldives, a slap and several kicks during a trip to Morocco in 2023, and a punch to the eye in 2024. Grégory Guillotin publicly acknowledged the violence he is accused of, stating he felt "ashamed." He appeared at the gendarmerie on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. to explain the allegations. He was then presented to the prosecutor on Tuesday after being detained. The prosecutor’s office announced that Guillotin will stand trial on November 27 before the correctional court in Evry for alleged domestic violence. The charges include habitual violence by a spouse that caused the victim to be unable to work for more than eight days, totaling 30 days, between September 9, 2020, and April 6, 2026. The victim was between the ages of 21 and 27 during this period. Pending his trial, the court has ordered that Guillotin be placed under judicial supervision. He is prohibited from contacting the victim or visiting her home and must receive medical care. He is also required to appear before a judge of freedom and detention. A source close to the case revealed that another rape complaint has been filed against him. This follows the June 17 complaint from his ex-girlfriend, who accused him of repeated physical and psychological violence. After the complaint was made public, Guillotin admitted to the violence and expressed that he felt "ashamed." Grégory Guillotin is best known for his hidden camera work, which has earned him nearly 4.4 million subscribers on his YouTube channel Greg Guillotin.
