Dystopian play explores identity and freedom

A new play titled Spectrum immerses the audience in a dystopian world where children deemed "out of the norm" are sent to rehabilitation centers to become model citizens. The play centers on three young protagonists: Charlie, an atypical young girl; Aurélien, who dreams of becoming Lili, his true identity; and Arthur, a perfect example of a conforming citizen. Faced with oppression, each must make a wrenching choice: to blend into the mold by renouncing part of their identity, or to take the ultimate risk of escaping to join the free territories—a mythical place where everyone is free to be themselves.

Play’s theme focuses on self-discovery

Spectrum is the story of a quest for freedom, a quest for self. The production is directed by Fannie Lineros, with Sonia Belskaya, Lucas Gonzalez, and Nicolas Lainé in the lead roles. The text is written by Fannie Lineros, with lighting design by Thierry Ravillard and sound design by Géraldine Belin. The music is composed by Lucas Gonzalez and Géraldine Belin, with choreography by Loriane Wagner and costumes by Laurine Baudon. The set design is by Daniel Fayet, with artistic collaboration from Lauren Sobler and development support from Anne Delphine Monnerville. The play is being diffused by Charline Alexandre.
