Kim Kardashian and Kanye West attended a concert in Chicago to support their 13-year-old daughter, North West, during her solo debut performance. North, who recently canceled a planned 14-date summer tour with rapper Molly Santana, gave a one-time concert at The Vic Theatre on Saturday night. The event marked her first headline show, where she performed all six songs from her debut EP, N0rth4evr, which she released in May. The EP includes tracks like “Piercing On My Hand” and “W0ah,” and North also performed an unreleased song that sampled her father’s 2008 track “Coldest Winter.” The performance featured a gothic-themed stage design and backing dancers, with North dressed in an all-white outfit. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who separated in 2021 after seven years of marriage, attended the event separately. According to fan-shared videos, Kardashian was seated in a balcony area, while West stood on the opposite side of the theater. The two maintained a visible distance from one another, reflecting the current dynamics of their relationship. North’s concert came after the cancellation of her tour with Santana, which was originally scheduled to run from August 5 to August 27 but was scrapped days before the first show. North has expressed interest in balancing her music career with a regular job, such as working at a Starbucks. In an interview with Dazed magazine in August, she said she hopes to start working at a coffee shop next year when she turns 14. The young rapper previously made headlines in June when she performed at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash festival in Illinois, marking her first solo festival appearance. She had also made a surprise stage appearance with Santana at the Rolling Loud festival in Orlando shortly after releasing her debut EP. Kanye West, who goes by the stage name Ye, has been involved in a separate tour in Chicago this week. However, his recent performances have faced challenges due to past controversial remarks, including anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi comments. In June, a Swiss football club blocked a planned concert at their stadium, citing a conflict with their values. Earlier this year, West was denied entry to the United Kingdom after the government blocked his planned three-night headline set at the Wireless Festival in London due to controversy surrounding his past statements. Despite these challenges, West continues to perform and engage with fans, while maintaining a co-parenting relationship with Kim Kardashian for their children.
