The 18th Marché du Goût brings producers and visitors together at La Glacerie for a day of farm visits and tastings.
Event highlights local food producers
The 18th edition of the Marché du Goût is being held on October 10 at La Glacerie, located within the Ferme des Miroirs in the Manche region of France. This event brings together local producers, farm visits, and product tastings, combining the format of a producer’s market with an educational farm tour.Poultry farmers showcase their work
Two poultry farmers, Nicolas Dupey and Nicolas Cauchard, who have been operating a four-hectare free-range poultry farm for five years, will host about a dozen other producers at the event. Their farm features a variety of poultry products, and visitors will have the opportunity to see the poultry production process firsthand.Farm conditions meet specific standards
The farmers explain that their chickens, which are at least 120 days old, are raised in spacious conditions—2,000 square meters for the chickens and 600 square meters for the laying hens. These conditions are designed to ensure the health and quality of the poultry products.Farmers expand into food production
The decision to transform their poultry into processed foods was made quickly by the two partners, who invested in a laboratory to produce pâtés. These products are now sold at local markets in Cherbourg and Valognes, expanding their reach beyond fresh poultry sales.
