At the IFA 2026 trade show, Roborock unveiled the F25 Ultra Steam Gen 2, a new robot vacuum-cleaner that uses high-temperature steam to clean floors deeply. This device is intended to remove tough stains and greasy residues without the need for multiple cleaning products. According to the IDC ranking for the second quarter of 2026, Roborock holds the top spot globally in robot vacuum cleaner sales and value during the first half of the year. The F25 Ultra Steam Gen 2 is an improved version of the F25 Ultra, aiming to tackle tasks that are still commonly done by hand due to the lack of an effective device.
The main feature of this second generation is its ability to produce stable steam at 180 °C in just 30 seconds after preheating. In Turbo Steam mode, it delivers up to 2.5 times more steam than the previous model, allowing it to soften and lift embedded stains rather than just spreading them. This is especially helpful for areas that look clean after a pass but remain sticky or marked once the stain dries. For greasy kitchen floors or tiled areas with repeated use, hot water can make a real difference, reducing the need for manual scrubbing.
Roborock claims that the device can eliminate almost all bacteria present on the floor, which is likely to appeal to families with young children who play on the floor or those with pets. The F25 Ultra Steam Gen 2 also includes intelligent technology that automatically adjusts the cleaning power based on the type of floor detected—wood, tiles, or others—without requiring the user to switch settings manually. Its flat design allows it to slide under low furniture, and a robotic arm called SensEdge adjusts to the user's movements to clean as close to the walls as possible, thanks to the 0 mm Triple-Edge Cleaning technology.
The device also includes features to make maintenance easier: after cleaning, the automatic washing and drying functions of the roller help prevent bad odors and keep the machine ready for use. However, there is a concern about the 180 °C steam potentially damaging fragile floors, particularly wood. Roborock has addressed this with an independent certification from the TÜV SÜD organization, which found that solid wood floors showed no swelling, deformation, or cracks after 18,000 back-and-forth movements simulating five years of use in steam mode.
Roborock has not yet announced the price or commercialization date for the F25 Ultra Steam Gen 2 in France, as these details will be revealed when the product launches. The first generation of the F25 Ultra was positioned in the upper range of vacuum-cleaners, so the new model is expected to be priced similarly.
