The cruise industry is preparing for a major transformation in 2027, with several major cruise lines introducing new ships, itineraries, and services. According to Emmanuel Joly, director of Cruisepro, the geopolitical situation has affected last-minute bookings, but it is generally advised to book 9 to 18 months in advance to get the best deals and cabin options. Autumn is often a time of change in booking patterns, with more focus on planning for the following year, especially for summer departures. Shipowners are offering appealing deals to encourage early bookings. Royal Caribbean is increasing its presence in the Mediterranean in 2027. The Legend of the Seas, the last ship of the Icon class, will embark on its second season, departing from Barcelona and Rome from May to October 2027. The Mariner of the Seas, a recently renovated ship, will offer new itineraries from Barcelona, including stops in the Spanish Costa del Sol, Casablanca, and Tangier, before heading to Portugal. The Brilliance of the Seas will offer itineraries on the Greek Islands from Athens, with a stop at the new Royal Beach Club in Santorini. Celebrity Cruises, a premium brand under the Royal Caribbean group, will have six ships in Europe in 2027. The Celebrity Infinity will offer long winter cruises from Barcelona toward the Canary Islands and Morocco. The Celebrity Xcel will have its second season in the Mediterranean, and the Celebrity Ascent will depart from Rome for the Greek islands. Cunard Cruises, the iconic British luxury brand, will offer unique holidays in 2027. The Queen Mary2 will be renovated at the Brest shipyards in spring 2027 and will begin its Le Havre to New York cruise on June 25, 2027.
