Several cruise ships are set to debut in 2026 and beyond, offering a range of new experiences for travelers. Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Luna was handed over in March and has begun its first Caribbean sailings from Miami. As the fourth ship in the Prima class, it features a hybrid waterslide rollercoaster called the Slidecoaster and a Moon Climber high ropes course. These additions aim to provide a mix of adventure and entertainment for passengers. Royal Caribbean's Legend of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship with a gross tonnage of 248,663, made its debut in the Mediterranean this summer. The ship offers seven-night cruises from Barcelona and Rome and includes a large waterpark, a sky-walk, and a zipline course. In March 2026, Disney launched the Disney Adventure, the eighth ship in the Disney fleet and the largest Disney cruise ship, with a capacity for over 6,000 guests. It features a Marvel-themed rollercoaster and a Disney castle, continuing the theme park experience at sea. Regent Seven Seas is preparing to launch the Seven Seas Prestige in December 2026, which will be the first of four new Prestige-class vessels. The ship will have one of the largest crew-to-guest ratios at sea, enhancing the level of service for passengers. MSC Cruises is set to launch MSC World Asia in December 2026, featuring a giant dragon and a 12-deck high dry slide. Viking Cruises launched Viking Mira in June 2026, a smaller ship with a gross tonnage of 54,300, focusing on more intimate and scenic voyages. Windstar Cruises will launch Star Explorer in December 2026, offering 112 suites for 224 guests. Tui Aria, launched in March 2026, is the first Tui river cruise ship in Europe to have an indoor pool with a retractable roof. Scenic Group plans to launch three new luxury river ships in 2027 and early 2028, including Emerald Nova on the Douro River and Scenic Spirit II on the Mekong River. Celebrity Cruises will debut on the river in 2027 with Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker. The Four Seasons Hotel chain has entered the cruise market with the luxury yacht Four Seasons I, which completed its maiden voyage in March. Oceania Cruises will launch Oceania Sonata in August 2027, featuring two new fine-dining restaurants. Riviera Travel's MS Riviera Resplendence took its maiden voyage on the Rhine in early July 2026, while Travelmarvel launched TM Rigel in June, which will sail on the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers. Sail Croatia is launching a new small ship, My Way, in 2027, designed for 36 passengers, offering a more personalized experience.
