MSC Cruises has launched its new cruise ship, the MSC World Atlantic, on September 26, 2026, marking the transfer of the ship from its building dock to the water. This is a key step in the ship's construction process, which is still ongoing at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. Workers are currently focusing on finishing the interior spaces, public areas, and technical systems that will support the ship's operations. The MSC World Atlantic is set to join MSC Cruises' fleet in 2027 and will begin its first season in the Caribbean in November of that year. With this addition, MSC Cruises will expand its fleet to 25 ships, reflecting the company’s growing presence in the cruise industry. The MSC World Atlantic is the fourth ship in the World Class series, which is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), a cleaner fuel that reduces emissions compared to traditional marine fuels. Once operational, the MSC World Atlantic will offer both 7-night and 14-night cruises, alternating between the eastern and western Caribbean. These itineraries will include visits to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a private island owned by MSC Cruises located in the Bahamas. The island serves as a unique destination for passengers, offering activities such as snorkeling, beach relaxation, and wildlife observation. Passengers interested in experiencing the MSC World Atlantic can currently book their cruises, as the itineraries are already open for reservations. The ship’s launch represents a significant milestone for MSC Cruises, as it continues to expand its fleet and enhance its offerings for travelers seeking luxury and sustainability in cruise travel.
