Amazon has launched the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition, a new color e-reader featuring a 7-inch E-Ink Kaleido 3 screen. Priced at 199.99 euros—down from 329.99 euros—the device is part of Amazon’s expansion into the color e-reader market. The promotion runs until October 7, 2026, offering a 39% discount. The Colorsoft model includes a 32 GB storage capacity, wireless charging compatibility, and IPX8 waterproofing, making it suitable for use in various environments. Its screen offers 300 ppi in black and white and 150 ppi in color, with a high contrast ratio. The device can last up to 8 weeks on a single charge and can store thousands of books, though graphic novels and comics may require more storage space. The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is slightly lighter than the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, weighing 219 grams. It adds color and four-color highlighting features compared to the Paperwhite but costs 100 euros more and has a slightly shorter battery life due to the power demands of the color display. When compared to other color e-readers like those from Kobo or Vivlio, the Colorsoft offers better contrast and benefits from Amazon’s Kindle ecosystem. However, it has some limitations, such as imperfect color accuracy, no dark mode, and no native support for the ePub file format, which is commonly used for e-books. The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is ideal for frequent travelers who want to carry novels, graphic novels, or manga, but the price difference may be a consideration for those who only read traditional novels. The promotion also includes various software and subscription deals, such as Cyberghost VPN, B&You 5G plans, Deezer Premium, and antivirus subscriptions. These additional services may be of interest to users looking for bundled offers that enhance the value of the e-reader. The wireless charging station is sold separately, adding to the overall cost for those who need it.
