Lofi Girl, a popular online presence known for its chill, ambient music streams, has launched a new 24/7 house music station called Lofi House. This channel, like others in the Lofi Girl brand, streams exclusively on YouTube and plays human-created house music, a key feature of the brand since its inception. The Lofi House station is accompanied by a vinyl compilation from the affiliated label Lofi Records, featuring 19 artists such as Akraam, lofi cassette, KBS, and Nabuko. This compilation is available on major streaming platforms like YouTube Music, Spotify, and Apple Music, and will also be released on vinyl. Pre-orders for the physical version are now open. Unlike the original Lofi Girl, who goes by the name Jade, this new station is hosted by a fictional character named Julien Maison, also known as Lofi Teacher. Described as a "30-year-old high-school biology teacher" with a mustache, Julien is portrayed as the kind of teacher students remember fondly. Jade, the original Lofi Girl, has not been involved in this new channel, a strategy the brand has used in the past when launching new projects. The original Lofi Girl YouTube channel, which has been active for over 10 years, currently has nearly 16 million followers and is viewed by thousands of people at any given time. The Lofi Girl brand has a history of creating multiple channels with different music genres. In addition to Lofi House, there are channels dedicated to synthwave, classical, hip-hop, and jazz. Each is hosted by different fictional characters, maintaining a consistent brand identity while offering variety. Despite the brand's expansion, there is no Lofi Death Metal channel, likely because the intense and fast-paced nature of death metal makes it unsuitable for background studying, a common use case for Lofi Girl's music. Lofi Girl's approach combines nostalgia, curated music, and a consistent online presence to create a relaxing environment for viewers. The brand's use of fictional characters and themed music channels has helped it maintain a loyal audience over the years. With the launch of Lofi House and the vinyl compilation, the brand continues to evolve while staying true to its roots in human-created, ambient music.
