Air France will launch two new transatlantic routes from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport in May 2027, connecting the French capital to San Diego, California, and Nashville, Tennessee. Each route will operate three times a week using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, increasing the number of U.S. airports served by the airline's summer program to twenty. Tickets for these routes will become available for sale on October 14, 2026. The Paris–San Diego route will begin on May 3, 2027, and the Paris–Nashville route will start on May 14. Both will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Air France will be the only airline offering non-stop flights between Paris and these two destinations. It also claims to be the sole carrier providing direct service from Nashville to mainland Europe, distinguishing it from existing routes to the United Kingdom and Iceland. In San Diego, the new route will complement Air France's existing service to Los Angeles, offering direct access from Paris without the need for domestic connections. San Diego is already linked to Amsterdam via KLM, which launched its three-times-weekly service with Boeing 787-9 aircraft in May 2025. Air France noted that KLM will also operate up to three flights per week to San Diego. The economic significance of the area, particularly in sectors like semiconductors, aerospace, defense, and pharmaceuticals, was highlighted by KLM when it introduced its route, adding to the strategic value of Air France's new service. Nashville, known as "Music City" for its role in country music, will see its first regular Air France service. The airline will join British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Icelandair, which already offer flights to the city from London, Dublin, and Iceland. The new route will expand Nashville's transatlantic connectivity and link it to the extensive network of Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Air France has chosen flight numbers AF046 and AF047 for the Paris–Nashville route, referencing Dolly Parton, a prominent country music artist born in 1946. Flights to San Diego will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with AF058 departing Paris at 10:10 and arriving in San Diego at 12:50. The return flight, AF059, will leave San Diego at 15:10 and arrive in Paris at 11:05 the following day. For Nashville, AF046 will depart Paris at 14:10, arriving at 16:40, while the return flight AF047 will leave Nashville at 18:55 and arrive in Paris at 10:15 the next day. With these new routes, Air France will serve twenty U.S. destinations during the summer of 2027, including major cities like New York-JFK and Newark, which are counted separately. San Diego will join Los Angeles and San Francisco as California stops. However, the airline will not renew its seasonal service to Denver in 2027, with those flights being reallocated to other routes. This change reflects both a reorganization of the U.S. network and an expansion of geographic coverage.
