The Voice UK is set to undergo a major transformation for its 15th series, with several changes to its judging panel and presenting lineup. Cheryl, a well-known singer and former contestant on The X Factor, is joining Will.i.am as a guest mentor ahead of her full-time appointment. ITV shared a post on The Voice's Instagram account showcasing Cheryl’s debut, including a photo of her hugging Will.i.am, who is also a mentor on the show. The caption read, "We have one more week of Blinds to go… But look who’s waiting for Will’s acts at the Battles." Cheryl will appear as a guest mentor during the show's battle rounds, where contestants compete in front of the judges. She has been spotted on the set with Will.i.am and fellow newcomer Stacey Solomon, filming parts of the upcoming series. This comes at a challenging time for The Voice UK, which recently announced that Sir Tom Jones would no longer be part of the judging panel for the 15th series. Alongside Sir Tom Jones, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher will also step down from the show. Cheryl and Will.i.am previously appeared together on The X Factor, and she was a dance captain on The Greatest Dancer, a show hosted by Alesha Dixon. Cheryl had previously performed on The Voice in 2012, singing "Call My Name" on stage. She will join the coaching panel alongside rapper Aitch, replacing the departing coaches and joining returning coaches Kelly Rowland and Will.i.am. Stacey Solomon and Alesha Dixon will present the series, taking over from Emma Willis, who is now one of the hosts for Strictly Come Dancing. Sir Tom Jones, 86, claimed he had been "fired" from the programme and said the decision was due to a "financial difficulty with insurance." He expressed disappointment, stating he loved the show and its audience but was not happy with the offer ITV made him instead of continuing as a coach. He added, "They now say in the press they wanted to 'refresh' the show, and with a new coaching line-up, there wouldn’t be a chair for me. They are offering a much-reduced role where I would make an appearance but without being actually involved from the start, and I’m not thrilled about that." In a statement, ITV thanked Sir Tom Jones for his years on The Voice UK and the "countless incredible and unforgettable moments he gave the show." The changes to the judging panel will take effect for series 15, which began filming in Manchester earlier this month. Cheryl had been speculated to take over Sir Tom’s spot, marking her return to primetime television after a long stint as a coach on The X Factor. Stacey Solomon and Alesha Dixon, both familiar faces on television, will also bring their experience to the new season.
