Samsung has introduced two new high-end tablets, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, which offer larger screens, improved performance, and advanced artificial intelligence features. These devices are scheduled to launch on October 7. The Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at 1,319 euros, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is priced at 1,539 euros. Both tablets use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, which is built on a 3 nm process. This new chip provides faster performance for tasks like processing, graphics rendering, and artificial intelligence compared to earlier models.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, making it ideal for viewing content in bright environments. The Galaxy Tab S12+ has a slightly smaller 12.6-inch screen. Both tablets are thinner than their predecessors, with the Ultra measuring just 5.1 mm and the Plus at 5.3 mm. They are also certified to be dust and water-resistant (IP68) and come with the S Pen stylus for note-taking and drawing. The Ultra includes additional features such as an ultra-wide-angle camera, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0, while the Plus includes Wi-Fi 6E. Both models will receive 7 years of operating system and security updates.
Samsung has integrated several AI tools into the tablets, such as Now Nudge and Galaxy AI, which allow users to access AI assistants like Gemini, Perplexity, and Bixby. These features enable users to perform tasks like summarizing text or searching the web with voice commands. The tablets also come with pre-installed apps like Adobe Photoshop, Notability, and LumaFusion, some of which offer trial periods. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra can be configured with up to 1 TB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. Accessories like the Pro Keyboard, which can turn the tablet into a laptop-style device, are available for purchase separately.
In addition to the tablets, Samsung has launched the Galaxy SmartTag 3, a Bluetooth tracker that is 35% smaller and 33% lighter than its predecessor. The SmartTag 3 has a battery life of up to 550 days in standard use and 790 days in power-saving mode. It uses Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding for improved tracking accuracy, with a range of up to 60 meters. The device is compatible with both Galaxy and iOS devices and uses Samsung's Galaxy Find Network, which includes over 900 million Galaxy devices to help locate lost items. It is also certified IP67 and includes Zone Notifications, which alert users when an item enters or exits a defined area. The Galaxy SmartTag 3 will be available in South Korea on October 7 and in other markets in 2027. These new products are positioned as premium alternatives to devices like the iPad Pro, with higher price points and advanced features. The Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra are available in Anthracite and Silver colors.
