WinFuture, a well-known German website that frequently leaks details about upcoming Samsung products, has shared information about the twelfth generation of the Galaxy Tab S tablets. These devices are expected to maintain a design similar to earlier models, as hinted by previous leaks. One notable change is the switch to the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, an eight-core chip capable of reaching up to 4.21 GHz. This would be the first time the Galaxy Tab S line uses a MediaTek chip, as they have previously relied on other processors. The Tab S12+ model is expected to keep a 12.6-inch display, a 10,600 mAh battery, 45-watt fast charging, and the IP68 certification, which means it is resistant to dust and water. However, it will have one fewer rear camera compared to the previous Tab S10+, marking the only noticeable downgrade in the lineup. The Ultra version of the tablet is expected to have a larger 11,600 mAh battery. Both models will start with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, with the Ultra possibly offering up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Pricing details have also been leaked, with the Tab S12+ expected to cost 1,299 euros and the Ultra model 1,539 euros. The Dimensity 9500 chip has already been tested in the Vivo X300 Pro, achieving strong performance scores on benchmark tests. However, no one has yet tested the performance of the chip in these Samsung tablets. Samsung continues to use the same casing design across multiple generations, often reusing its technological advancements in other products. These new Galaxy Tab S12 models are aimed at customers who are willing to pay a premium for high-end features. However, they face competition from Apple’s iPad Pro M5, which starts at 1,119 euros for the 11-inch version in France. The success of the new tablets will depend on how well the Dimensity 9500 performs in real-world use and whether the price increase is justified by the features offered.
