Battlefield 6 releases new season content

Battlefield 6 has launched its fifth season, titled Siege of Las Vegas, which introduces new maps, weapons, and gameplay adjustments to the popular multiplayer shooter. The update is being rolled out in stages, with three new maps, six new weapons, two new vehicles, and various multiplayer improvements planned over several weeks.

New maps offer distinct environments

The first map, Vegas Strip, is set in the heart of Las Vegas, featuring dense urban environments with multiple routes, elevated positions, and underground passages. This design encourages dynamic, close-range combat and includes destructible elements that can alter the battlefield during gameplay.

Zone 51 introduces desert and underground combat

The second map, Zone 51, offers a different experience with vast desert landscapes, military installations, and underground facilities. The surface areas favor vehicle-based and long-range combat, while the underground sections require coordination and adaptability. Destructible elements, such as a collapsing control tower, add tactical depth to the map.

New mode adds faster-paced gameplay

A new mode called Royale rapide has been introduced for REDSEC, a faster-paced variant of the Battle Royale mode. This mode features smaller play areas, fewer participants, and more frequent encounters, with players needing to eliminate opponents to earn redeployment tokens as the game progresses.

Gameplay adjustments aim to balance the experience

The update includes changes to vehicle regeneration, the effectiveness of anti-air equipment, and the offensive capabilities of various units. These adjustments are intended to balance the game but may require players to adapt their strategies. New weapons are tailored to specific maps, such as the MK24 and RSPR for Vegas Strip, and the Z84M and ELR-40 for Zone 51.

Additional features and future content

Additional features like community tools, including sections and a server browser, are expected to be available later. A temporary event inspired by Dead Space will launch on October 20, featuring environments from the 2023 remake and cosmetic items. A third map, European Casino, is scheduled for November, followed by a winter phase in December.
