The Razer Huntsman V3 Tenkeyless 8KHz is a mechanical keyboard that became available on May 12, 2026. It uses Razer's Analog Optical Switch Gen-2 technology, which allows users to adjust how far down a key must be pressed before it registers a keystroke, from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm. Each key requires 40 grams of force to actuate, and the total distance a key travels is 4.0 mm. These switches are said to last up to 100 million keystrokes, making them durable for frequent use. The keyboard connects via a USB-C cable and includes RGB lighting that works with Razer's Chroma system, allowing for customizable lighting effects. It has textured keycaps made from PBT plastic, mounted on a lightweight aluminum frame. Thick foam beneath the circuit board helps reduce noise. The keyboard includes six preset profiles but does not come with a wrist rest, a feature found in the more expensive Pro version. The Razer Huntsman V3 Tenkeyless 8KHz is designed to offer similar performance to the Pro version but at a lower price point, ranging from 169.99 to 179.99 euros. While it shares the same switches and polling rate of 8000 Hz with the Pro model, it lacks a wrist rest, a multifunction scroll wheel, and reinforced lubrication. Unlike the Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8KHz, which uses magnetic Hall effect switches, this model uses optical switches. Razer claims these optical switches offer better linearity, more precise actuation, and are less affected by electromagnetic interference. According to the company, these switches are 26% faster than the nearest competitor and 2.5 times more precise in actuation. The keyboard also features HyperPolling technology, which reduces input delay to an average of 0.48 milliseconds. Users can adjust key settings directly on the keyboard using key combinations, without needing the Razer Synapse software. The Razer Huntsman V3 Tenkeyless 8KHz is targeted mainly at competitive gamers who play fast-paced tactical first-person shooter games like Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant. These players often seek high-performance gear without the higher cost of the Pro model. The keyboard is seen as a reliable entry into Razer's premium product line, offering a good balance of performance and affordability. It is praised for its comfortable typing experience and pleasant sound, even though some features may not be necessary for casual use. The model does not include a wrist rest, standard lubrication, or other comfort features found in the Pro version, but these omissions are generally considered acceptable for most users. The keyboard is available for purchase on the official Razer website.
