Razer has introduced the Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Tenkeyless 8KHz, a new model in its popular Huntsman series of gaming keyboards. This keyboard is designed for gamers who want a customizable and tactile typing experience. It uses Razer Hall Effect Magnetic analog switches, which allow for precise control over how hard a key needs to be pressed before it registers a click. These switches can be adjusted through Razer’s Synapse software, letting users tailor their input to different games or tasks. The Huntsman V3 HE features a sleek, premium design with floating keycaps, a brushed metal faceplate, and vibrant RGB backlighting that can be customized to match a user’s setup. The build is described as solid and well-constructed, with a smooth faceplate and double-shot PBT keycaps that are durable and resistant to wear. The keyboard is wired-only, connecting via a braided USB cable that is more durable than standard cables. It is relatively lightweight and compact, making it a good choice for users who value portability, though it lacks a wrist rest, which some may find uncomfortable during long sessions. Customization options are available through Razer’s Synapse software, which allows users to adjust the actuation point (how far a key must be pressed before it registers), as well as the sensitivity of the Rapid Trigger function, which is useful for fast-paced gaming. However, the software does not provide a real-time visualizer for the Rapid Trigger function, which some users might find limiting. The Huntsman V3 HE is priced at $139.99 in the U.S., £139.99 in the U.K., and AU$229.95 in Australia. A smaller 65% version is available at a lower price point. Compared to similar keyboards like the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 and the MonsGeek FUN60 Ultra, the Huntsman V3 HE is praised for its build quality and performance but criticized for its high price and the absence of wireless connectivity. The Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 includes an OLED screen and a wrist rest, while the FUN60 Ultra offers more affordable pricing and supports multiple wireless modes. Preorders for the Huntsman V3 HE are now open, with the keyboard expected to launch later this year.
