The commune of Grau-du-Roi is holding its annual October Rose events, which focus on promoting solidarity and raising awareness about cancer. These events began on Thursday, October 1st, with the opening of a raffle organized by the city's merchants in support of the cause. The draw for the raffle is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 11th, at noon. On Saturday, October 10th, the events will begin at 9:30 AM with the Pink Walk, organized in collaboration with the CCAS, a local community organization. The walk will start in front of the town hall, accompanied by a partner of the Ligue against cancer, a French organization that supports cancer patients and research. Walkers are expected to arrive at the Pink Village at 11 AM, where the inauguration will follow with speeches by the commune's officials and the association of merchants. In the afternoon, at 2:30 PM, a Camargue boules competition focused on conviviality will take place at the boules court. Camargue boules is a traditional French game similar to lawn bowling, often played in the Camargue region. On Sunday, October 11th, the morning will be dedicated to "La Boucle Rose," a 6 km pedestrian race organized with the city's Sports Department. Registration for the race will take place on site from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on the Étienne-Mourrut esplanade, located on the town hall's square. The participation fee is set at 2 euros, and the organizers ask runners to follow the pink dress code to support the event's theme. The morning will conclude at 12 PM with the draw of the merchants' raffle, which is expected to be a highlight of the day.
