More than 2,000 people are expected to attend the Oct'Aube rose event in the Aube department during the weekend of October 10. The event, organized by the local association Sportifs et solidaires, combines sports and solidarity with the goal of fighting breast cancer. The small town of Macey in the Aube department will host the sporting festival, which is expected to bring a significant pink wave to the area, as pink is a symbol of awareness for breast cancer. The weekend program includes a solidarity Zumba session and a village of partners in the fight against breast cancer on Saturday. On Sunday morning, participants can take part in a solidarity run and a hiking event with three distance options: 5, 8, or 12 kilometers. Runners will start after a speech by Dominique Fleuret, the mayor of Macey, and Audrey Manzoni, the president of the association, as noted by Est Éclair. The municipality will be supported in the security aspect by the firefighters of Macey and several first responders. About fifty volunteers will also participate in the event, according to the daily newspaper, which specifies that the town hall's banquet hall and the town's infrastructure will be made available to the association. Bibs for the solidarity run are sold at a price of 12 euros for adults and two euros for children up to 12 years old. The proceeds generated by the event will be donated to Aube-based associations that work for this cause.
